An optimization strategy for enhancing energy consumption performance in digital currency miner's building

Cryptocurrencies, as a way of extraction, are categorized into two main groups non-mineable and mineable. Bitcoin (BTC), the most famous mineable digital currency, utilizes Proof Work (PoW) algorithm for maintaining network solidarity. Its mining process is done by devices known application specific integrated circuits (ASICs), which consume electricity turn it heat. They shall operate within an accepted temperature range around 25°C; otherwise, they will face efficiency drop; consequently, all sites require proper cooling system. This study aims to investigate problem high energy consumption in currency present solution that via optimizing capacity operation chiller ice thermal storage system (ITS). The results show utilization ITS reduces operational costs 10%, provides 1320 kWh during peak hours. Finally, sensitivity analysis considering impact tariff on size have confirmed with increase time tariff, role cost reduction increases.
